Procedures

We provide a wide range of services and procedures to better assist you. However, on your initial visit, our staff will review your medical history in order to better evaluate your pain problem. This will also include a diagnostic evaluation which can include laboratory, neurological, and radiology testing.

Some of the services and procedures Haydel Spine Pain & Wellness offers include, but are not limited to the procedures listed below.

Nerve Blocks

Nerve blocks are a type of procedure that disrupts specific nerve signals, offering relief from chronic pain. This procedure, guided by imaging technology, can provide both diagnostic clarity and therapeutic relief, targeting the precise area where pain originates.

This is an injection of anesthetic. It numbs your arm and hand. It can prepare you for surgery and control your pain after surgery.
Intercostal nerve blocks are useful in the treatment of pain of originating and traveling along the intercostal nerve, or surrounding structures, and include rib fracture costochondritis, chondrosternal joint inflammation either from trauma or arthritis, and pain radiating from thoracic axial spine pathology with irritation of the adjacent intercostals nerve.
Occipital nerve blocks are done to treat occipital neuralgia. Occipital neuralgia is headache-mediated through the posterior cranial mass, running on the posterior aspect of the head, into the scalp region, and producing constant head pain and headaches, due to pathology often presented to the pathological spine region.

Stellate ganglion block is a procedure that attempts to block the sympathetic activity in the upper extremity and achieve pain relief.

Steroid Injections

Steroid injections are a minimally invasive treatment that can soothe inflamed areas in the body, often used to alleviate discomfort associated with conditions like arthritis or herniated discs. By directly introducing corticosteroids into the problem area, patients can experience rapid and lasting pain relief.

Epidural steroid injections are minimally invasive procedures done in pain management in an attempt to introduce into the epidural space antiinflammatory medications that are highly potent and close to the site of the inflammatory process and the source of the patient’s pain generation.

Trigger point injections are used to treat myofascial pain syndromes. They are also used to treat areas of inflammatory process where tendons and muscles may attach to bones as well as lateral epicondylitis, lateral collateral ligament of the knee, or medical collateral ligament of the knee that is inflamed.

Minimally Invasive Procedures

Minimally invasive procedures are a modern approach to pain management, using advanced technology to deliver precise treatment with minimal discomfort. These techniques often result in quicker recovery times, reduced risk of complications, and less scarring compared to traditional surgery.

VIA Disc NP is intended for use as an allograft to supplement nucleus pulposus tissue loss in degenerated intervertebral discs. An allograft is tissue recovered from a human donor that is transferred to a human recipient.

VIA Disc NP consists of dehydrated nucleus pulposus particulate derived from the intervertebral disc region of the donor.

The nucleus pulposus particulate is mixed together with saline and delivered into the intervertebral disc during a non-surgical spinal procedure.
